There has been so much change in my life lately. My living environment has gone from quite rural to urban. I have gone from a very slow-paced job to a constantly moving work atmosphere. My commute has gone from a five-minute car trip to a ride on an often-crowded metro. I used to work in a very small town. Now my job is in Washington, D.C. I guess I shouldn’t wonder why I feel stressed, now that I think about it. This is what I wanted, so I am hesitant to complain. Still, I need to admit that change is hard. I also need to be patient with myself.

Hi Laura,
Yes, change is often quite challenging isn’t it? You and Jim have changed it up a lot as you said in your post. With retiring, moving etc. we are doing somewhat the same thing in a way, and I do find myself needing to pause frequently and notice what is coming up from within in response to all that is new in my life. Very interesting! Putting stress on the system shows us a lot about ourselves, yes? That is good but too much is not, right?
We are still in idyllic Nova Scotia and yet we are still quite busy with taking care of all that we have put in motion in these last few months. Ironic that retirement has not been retirement really. You could say that we are just changing our work lives to suit our priorities -?
Really respect the way you and Jim have moved forward in these past few years and made choices where you knew you would be challenged. Glad to hear that you are being very, very gentle and kind to yourself. That is the only way.
Love you lots and maybe we can connect on our way back down to FL?
Janet
